npower Health Through Warmth Crisis Fund

FILT is a national charity helping older and vulnerable people to stay safe, warm and well in their homes.

nPower

npower Health Through Warmth (HTW) Crisis Fund offers help to people in England* who have long-term illnesses and are finding it hard to fund heating and insulation measures in their homes. Clients don’t have to be or become an npower customer, to receive help.

Who qualifies for help?

People with long-term illness who own and occupy their own home, who also have a low income and little or no savings (which are assessed) and cannot fully fund the work themselves.

Applications are made to FILT by home improvement agencies in most areas*

You can also download the client feedback form but we will also send this to you if the application is approved.

Rapid Care funding

From the 1st of April 2016, in addition to our standard Crisis Fund, HTW has a rapid care fund that will enable us to fully fund gas boilers/central heating and install the measures within 21 days for some of the most vulnerable people who are at greater at risk from cold conditions, and who need rapid assistance due to the severity of their illness. “The npower Health Through Warmth/FILT Hardship Fund enables me to obtain a quick response when seeking assistance to enhance a client’s wellbeing through various measures to keep them warm. This enables our clients to live independently and reduces the costs of keeping their homes at a safe level of warmth. Both myself and the clients I have assisted are very grateful for this project and cannot stress how important it is now, and will be in the future as more of our client group are at risk of fuel poverty.”
